A disappointing Champions League night for Liverpool was compounded when goalkeeper Alisson was forced off injured in the second-half.
The Brazilian was withdrawn during a dismal defeat in the Champions League at Galatasaray, with the Reds stumbling to a second successive loss courtesy of Victor Osimhen’s early penalty.
Injury issues have followed Alisson closely in recent seasons. The 33-year-old remains one of the world’s best goalkeepers but is also one of the most injury prone, regularly spending chunks of time on the sidelines.
Liverpool have typically mitigated his absences well, with Caoimhín Kelleher stepping up superbly in recent years, and now it’s the turn of Giorgi Mamardashvili following Alisson’s latest setback.
