Tottenham Hotspur’s fantastic month during January, which included the Lilywhites beating Premier League leaders Chelsea, has seen Mauricio Pochettino’s side fight their way into second position in the table.Led by talismanic stars Harry Kane and Dele Alli, the North London side have shown themselves to be real competitors in the Premier League and have proved that last season’s assault for the title was not just a one off.As it stands, Spurs are looking like the best side in the division, excluding Chelsea, and they can look upon both Kane and Alli as being crucial parts of their success- especially with the duo’s form in the past month.
Both England internationals found the net five times during Spurs’ five Premier League games in January, giving them a comfortable cushion over Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez- who netted three goals for the Gunners last month.
That form has seen Kane sit amongst the highest-scorers in the league, despite missing a fair amount of matches through injury, whilst Alli has improved dramatically to take his goal tally to eleven for the season.
