The hot topic at Leeds United this week has been surrounding goalkeeper Kiko Casilla and his eight-game ban for racially abusing Jonathan Leko and the reaction from some supporters have been hugely appalling. An independent commission didn’t accept the Spaniard’s claim that he was ‘unaware of the existence’ of the racist word he was found guilty of using in the Football Association’s official wording, which was released on Tuesday.Casilla, in addition to the suspension, has been handed a £60k fine and will have to attend face-to-face education classes. It was ruled that the 33-year-old was not a racist as his language was ‘wholly out of character’ and they were satisfied ‘on the balance of probabilities’ that he had directed a racist remark towards the former Charlton loanee, as per the BBC.Supporters have been reacting to the news on Twitter and below is just a few of the replies that put Leeds’ fanbase in poor light…
Some of these comments are tactless and wholly insensitive – it’s as if these fans do not see racism as a serious issue in the modern game.

Instead, they should be taking a look at the veteran and pondering whether or not he should still be at the club or have his contract torn up right in front of him.

Leko has since revealed that he would ‘think twice’ about reporting such an incident because of the comments he’s received on social media and that quite frankly says it all.
There’s just no place in football for any form of abuse, even if it was incredulously claimed that the goalkeeper didn’t know the word he said was racist.
Condemn him, no one else.
