Victor Lindelof has struggled for minutes at Manchester United since making the move to Old Trafford from Benfica in the summer.
Manager Jose Mourinho seemed to indicate at the start of the season that the defender will need time to reach Premier League standard.
In total so far, the Sweden international has made nine appearances in all competitions, but has started just two top-flight matches.
Lindelof faced criticism for his performances in the early stages of the campaign, but after playing 90 minutes in last weekend’s 4-1 win over Newcastle United and Saturday afternoon’s 1-0 triumph over Brighton, the 23-year-old has won over some of the fans.
The match against the Seagulls at Old Trafford was not the most thrilling of encounters, and Brighton will feel disappointed that they failed to get a point from the clash.
Chris Hughton’s side defended well for large chunks of the contest, but in the end they were undone by an Ashley Young goal.
There may not have been many standout performers in the United setup, but Lindelof certainly impressed the supporters.
