ScorecardKerala captain Sachin Baby turned his maiden first-class century into an unbeaten double-hundred in his 25th match to earn his side a massive lead over Hyderabad in Wayanad. Kerala began the day on 179 for 6, trailing by 91. Baby and debutant KS Monish (61) put on 183 for the seventh wicket to stun Hyderabad. Baby faced 361 balls and hit 17 fours and three sixes while Monish lasted for 229 deliveries. After Monish fell to Ashish Reddy, U Manukrishnan (32 not out) joined his captain to add another 114 as Kerala finally declared after 158 overs on 447 for 7 for a lead of 177. The Hyderabad openers survived for two overs till stumps.

The overnight pair of Ankit Kalsi and Rashmi Parida put on 166 for the fourth wicket. Kalsi completed his maiden first-class century in his second game while Parida fell short by 12. Both batsmen were gone before Himachal reached 300, as was allrounder Rishi Dhawan. Nikhil Gangta (44), Bipul Sharma (37) and Karanveer Singh (27) dug in to take Himachal past Goa’s 357. Karanveer was the ninth man out off what turned out to be the last ball of the day with the score on 377 after 157.2 overs.

Yashpal and Paliwal then added 89 for the fourth wicket before the former departed in the last over of the day for 57. Paliwal was unbeaten on 72 as Services ended just 16 behind with six wickets remaining.
